Arif Pashayev graduated in 1957 from Odessa Electrotechnical Communication Institute on specialization of radio physics, has started his scientific activity at ANAS Physics Institute since 1959. Since then, he has created and produced appliances for contactless measuring of electro physical parameters at semi-conductors, control settings over mechanical engineering tools, micro-diminutive exact blocks. These appliances are successfully utilized in number of scientific centers, shipbuilding, machinery, military industry and other production fields in the world. A number of his scientific achievements have been awarded to gold, silver medals and Diplomas at international competitions and exhibitions, applied in a number of industrial enterprises.
Outstanding scientist was a post graduate in 1960-1964 at "GIREDMET" Institute in Moscow, in 1966 defended his candidacy work on the theme "Exploitation of asocial methods and appliances of contactless measuring of semi-conductors' parameters at high and ultra-high frequencies", received degree of Technical Sciences Candidate.
Successfully continuing his scientific researches, scientist successfully defended in 1978 his doctoral thesis on the theme "Physical grounds, development principles and application perspectives of non-destructive methods in semi-conductors" and received degree of Physics-mathematical Sciences Doctor.
Arif Pashayev's, - academician of International Transport, International Engineering, International Electrical energy, International Sciences, International Information Academies - major direction of scientific researches is physics and technique of semi-conductors. He established physical bases of harmless researches of materials at high and ultra-high frequency diapasons. Academician had been working on the development of scientific bases of the contactless control over semi-conductors for more than 40 years, studies of new directions and their application.
Academician A.Pashayev is an author of up to 300 scientific works, more than 15 books and monographs. Scientist had received authorship certificates and industrial samples for more than 30 inventions, was awarded with golden, silver medals and diplomas. Besides, Arif Pashayev was awarded with State Prize of Azerbaijan Republic, medal of "USSR Inventor" for his high achievements in physics, medal named after Academician Y.Mammadaliyev and golden medal of the English International Biography Center. He was a winner of international project "Famous scientists of Azerbaijan" with decree of "VEKTOR" - International Science Center Prize Commission and awarded with international diploma "Famous scientist of XXI century".
Academician Arif Pashayev, who has big services in development of science and education in Azerbaijan, was awarded with another high prize of our Homeland - "Order of Fame".
In addition, A.Pashayev is a member of Expert Council of Azerbaijan Republic Supreme Attestation Commission, Territorial Council at Tbilisi Technical University, Chair of Scientific Council on instrument-making at ANAS, Co-chair of united qualified council within Azerbaijan National Space Agency and National Aviation Academy, member of coordination council on preparation of aviation specialists within Interstates Aviation Committee.
A.Pashayev was the first who developed scientific bases of contactless measuring of the electro-physical parameters of semi-conductors and created scientific appliances realizing these methods.
More than 10 post graduates and authors of thesis defended Ph.D. thesis under direction of Academician Arif Pashayev. He was advisor of two doctoral thesis, official opponent on number of doctoral thesis defended in Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia, Azerbaijan.
A.Pashayev headed laboratory of "Physical methods of contactless measuring and physical control methods" of ANAS Physics Institute in 1971-1996. He had proved many times during his work of being a great scientific organizer; he took active participation in definition of scientific directions of Physics Institute. From 1996 up to present he has been a rector of "Azerbaijan Air Lines" State Concern National Aviation Academy. Under his leadership, education process, scientific-methodical works in academy had been organized at very high level. Being a rector of National Aviation Academy, new chairs and specializations such as "Economy and law", "Air transport production", "Qualification" had been opened.
For the first time Azeri language has become language of education in this University. New academic school, modern sport complex, student hostel, hotel and other buildings had been built in the territory of the Academy.
Scientific activity of academy is aimed to creation of the system of the automated control over the dosimeters' technical condition, pilotless vehicles, radio-controlled robots to search and neutralize landmines and etc. Under his direction, National Aviation Academy was awarded with certificate of "Civil Aviation higher academic institution" with decree of the Interstates Aviation Committee and has been included in the list of higher academic institutions of International Civil Aviation Organization.
Outstanding scientific potential and organization capability of the scientist is evidence of the regular reforms that he carries out in the field of construction of unique station in National Aviation Academy meeting world standards, personal control over development of education, creation of healthy scientific-pedagogic environment in the Academy, invitation of high-qualified experts to higher school.
In addition to possessing high scientific-practical potential, academician A.Pashayev is a careful and kind advisor and assistant to every person, living and creating with high feelings of citizenship and patriotism, spending lots of efforts and energy in the work, in particular development of aviation education in the republic meeting modern level standards, paying much attention to the young generation, their education in the spirit of high patriotism and sincerity.
